How to Ask for a Raise
Asking for a raise work differently for people. The ones that end up successful in it are those that realize that it takes more than guts to approach the boss and ask for one outright. A raise in your salary will take more than that.
First of all, doing a good job is not enough to justify a raise. You need to let your boss know that you are doing a great job, even greater than what your employer expects from you. Letting them know about that fact will further up your advantage in getting that raise.
Do some research on how your current accomplishments are being compensated in other companies. Getting this information from various sources can provide you with an accurate average that will determine if the time is right for you to ask for a raise. Your boss might also be aware of this fact and only waiting for you to approach him and ask for it. You have no reason to be shy, just as long as you have your facts straight and you really believe that you deserve it.
